Onkĕlos (aram., für die griech. Form Akylas, s. Aquila 1), Name eines Gelehrten, dessen griechische Bibelübersetzung in hohem Ansehen stand, angeblicher Verfasser der nach dem Muster der Übertragung des Akylas verfaßten ältesten und besten, jedoch nicht vor dem dritten christlichen Jahrhundert entstandenen chaldäischen Übersetzung der fünf Bücher MosesTargum Onkelos«, auch »Targum babli«).
