Montreuil (spr. mongtröj), 1) (M.-sous-Bois) Stadt im franz. Depart. Seine, Arrond. Sceaux, 3 km östlich von Paris, nördlich von Vincennes, hat eine Kirche aus dem 12.–14. Jahrh., ausgezeichnete Obst-, insbes. Pfirsichkultur, Fabrikation von Chemikalien, Kautschukspielwaren, Puppen, Pianos, Porzellan etc., Kunsttischlerei und (1901) 31,773 Einw. – 2) (M.-sur-Mer) Arrondissementshauptstadt im franz. Depart. Pas-de-Calais, an der Canche, Knotenpunkt an der Nordbahn, hat eine ehemalige gotische Abteikirche, St.-Saulve, ein Krankenhaus mit gotischer Kapelle (14. Jahrh.), eine Zitadelle, eine Infanterievorschule, Theater, Ackerbaukammer, Papierfabrikation und (1901) 3518 Einw. M., gegenwärtig 15 km vom Meer entfernt, war noch im 13. Jahrh. Hafenstadt und Mitglied der Hansa, wurde 1537 von Kaiser Karl V. erobert, aber 1665 mit Frankreich vereinigt.
