Koetsveld (spr. kuts-), Cornelis Eliza van, niederländ. Theolog und Schriftsteller, geb. 24. Mai 1807 in Rotterdam, gest. 4. Nov. 1893 im Haag, studierte in Leiden, war Pfarrer in Westmaas, Berkel, Schoonhoven und seit 1849 im Haag, wo er 1878 zum Hofprediger ernannt wurde. Er schrieb: »De gelijkenissen van den Zaligmaker« (Schoonhoven 1854–68, 2 Bde., u. ö., zuletzt 1892) und gab viele Erbauungsschriften heraus, zu denen er auch seine Novellen gerechnet wissen will. Seinen Ruhm verdankt er den naturgetreuen, humoristischen »Schetsen uit de Pastorij te Mastland« (Schoonhoven 1843, 13. Aufl. 1902; deutsch von Schollenbruch, Elberf. 1865), wie Beets' »Camera Obscura«, Hasebroeks »Waarheiden Droomen« und Kneppelhouts »Studententypen« noch heute populär. Gesammelt erschienen seine Novellen, Skizzen etc. in 10 Bänden (Arnh. 1897–98). Seine Biographie schrieb Janten Brink in seiner »Geschichte der nordniederländischen Literatur« und in den »Levensberichten van de Maatschappij der Nederlandsche Letteren 1893 bis 1894«.
