Darazi

Darazi (Darasi), Mohammed ibn Ismaïl, Stifter der Sekte der Drusen (s.d.), trat 1017 in Ägypten mit der Lehre hervor, der regierende Kalif Hâkim sei eine Inkarnation Gottes (s. Ismaeliten). Gegen diese Übertreibung des ohnehin in Ägypten unbeliebten Ismaelitismus erhob sich das Volk, und D. mußte fliehen. Von Hâkim unterstützt, ging er nun nach Syrien, wo er viele Anhänger gewann, die Darazi (Plural Durûz, daher Drusen) genannt wurden. D. soll 1020 im Kampf gefallen sein.
