Church Missionary Society (for Africa and the East), »kirchliche Missionsgesellschaft für Afrika und den Osten«, eine 1799 begründete englische Missionsgesellschaft, die in engem Zusammenhang mit der englischen Staatskirche steht. Sie begann die Arbeit 1804 in Westafrika und wirkt jetzt auch in Indien, Neuseeland, Nordamerika, Ostafrika, China, Japan und Persien. Sie entsendet nur ordinierte Missionare und hat über 300 Stationen. Ihre Organe sind: »The Church Missionary Intelligencer and Record«, »The Church Missionary Gleaner« und »Proceedings«. Vgl.
