Bouillier (spr. bujĭē), Francisque, franz. Philosoph, geb. 12. Juli 1813 in Lyon, wurde 1837 Professor der Philosophie in Orléans, 1839 an der Fakultät zu Lyon, 1848 Dekan der Lyoner Fakultät, 1856 Präsident der Akademie zu Lyon, 1867 Direktor der höhern Normalschule in Paris und 1875 Mitglied der Akademie der Wissenschaften. Von seinen Schriften sind die bedeutendsten: »Histoire et critique du cartésianisme« (Par. 1842), eine erweiterte Bearbeitung einer gekrönten Preisschrift; ferner »Histoire de la philosophie cartésienne« (1854, 2 Bde.; 3. Aufl. 1868); »Du plaisir et de la douleur« (4. Aufl. 1891) und »Nouvelles études etc.« (1887); »Questions de morale pratique« (1889). Auch hat B. Kants Schrift »Die Religion innerhalb der Grenzen der bloßen Vernunft« (1842) und in Gemeinschaft mit Lortet Fichtes »Anweisung zum seligen Leben« (1845) ins Französische übersetzt.
