Als Gewichtsmaß ein B. Mais- und Weizenmehl aus Amerika und Osteuropa = 196 Pfd. avdp. = 88,904 kg, Schießpulver 100, Pottasche 200, Sardellen 30, westindischer Rohrzucker 224 und bis 308, Pökelfleisch 200 engl. Pfd., amerikanisches Pech 3,5 Gallons zu 9 Pfd. In den Vereinigten Staaten ist 1 B. Flüssigkeiten = 31,5 Gallons-S 119,242 Lit.; man rechnet das B. Schießpulver zu 25, Fische und gesalzenen Speck zu 200 Pfd., Mais zu 5 Bushels, Reis von Louisiana zu 3 Fässern von 200 Pfd., rohes Petroleum = 42, Zider etc. = 30, das Indian B. Flüssigkeiten für Maultierbelastung = 60 Gallons.
