Palota, 1) (Rákos-P.) Groß-Gemeinde im ungar. Komitat Pest, bei Neupest, an der Staatsbahnlinie Waitzen-Budapest und an der elektrischen Straßenbahn nach Budapest, beliebter Sommerausflugsort. P. hat ein Kinderasyl, Ackerbauschule und (1901) 11,744 magyarische, meist römisch-katholische und reform. Einwohner. In der Nähe Káposztás-Megyer mit den hauptstädtischen Wasserwerken. – 2) (Vár-P., auch Veszprém-P.) Groß-Gemeinde im ungar. Komitat Veszprim, an der Staatsbahnlinie Stuhlweißenburg-Kis-Czell, mit Ruinen der alten Burg (ehemals Jagdschloß des Matthias Corvinus) und einem neuen Schloß, Weinbau, Tuchweberei und (1901) 5344 magyarischen, meist römisch-katholischen u. evang. Einwohnern; dabei der Badeort Pét (s. d.).
