Load (spr. lōd, »Ladung«), engl. Bauholzmaß: bei unbehauenem Schiffskrummholz 40Kubikfuß = 1,1326 cbm, bei behauenem sowie Bohlen, Dielen und Planken 50 Kubikfuß; dann trocknes Heu 2016 Pfund. Außerdem als Schiffslast enthaltend: von Mehl, Bier, Seife, Pottasche, Pech, Teer, Heringen und Laberdan 12, von Salz 18, von Schießpulver 24 Barrels, von Flachs und Federn 17, von Wolle 39 Hundredweights, von gemeinen Häuten 200, von bessern 144, von Backsteinen 500, Ziegeln 1000 Stück.
