Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire (spr. lingkönschĭr), Grafschaft im östlichen England, an der Nordsee, zwischen dem Ästuar des Humber und dem Wash, grenzt im N. an Yorkshire, im W. an die Grafschaften Nottingham und Leicester, im S. an Rutland, Northampton, Cambridge und Norfolk und umfaßt 6853 qkm (124,5 QM.) mit (1901) 498,858 Einw. (73 auf 1 qkm) Die Grafschaft zerfällt in die drei Verwaltungsbezirke (administrative counties) Lindsey im N., Kesteven im SW. und Holland im S. mit zusammen 388,100 Einw. Hauptstadt ist Lincoln.
