Kupéz (besser Kupjéz, russ.), der Kaufmann, der in frühern Zeiten zugleich Krieger war; jetzt ausschließliche Bezeichnung der handeltreibenden Städter, die eine gesonderte, in zwei (bis 1863 in drei) Gilden zerfallende Klasse bilden. Vgl. Gostj.
