Brief (B oder Br.) auf Kurszetteln bedeutel soviel wie angeboten zu dem dabei bemerkten Preis, im Gegensatze zu Geld (G), d. h. gesucht. Zuweilen bedeutet B. auch soviel wie Wechsel, z. B. Briefe von der Hand, Wechsel, die der Verkäufer selbst ausstellt; gemachte Briefe (gemachte Papiere), Wechsel, die nicht vom Verkäufer ausgestellt, also schon in mehreren Händen gewesen sind. Vgl.
