Thermophone

Thermophone, nach Wiborg Tonkugeln, die im Innern eine explosive Mischung enthalten, die detoniert, sobald ein bestimmter Wärmegrad erreicht ist. Die Zeit, bis der Knall erfolgt, wenn eine solche Kugel an einen heißen Ort (Ofen) gebracht wird, läßt die Temperatur des letztern abschätzen, da die Wärme um so rascher eindringt, je größer die Temperaturdifferenz zwischen Außenfläche und Innerm ist.
