Polymerisation

Polymerisation (griech.), die Verkettung mehrerer Moleküle eines Körpers zu einem größern Molekül eines neuen Körpers. Solcher P. unterliegen z. B. Olefine bei Einwirkung geringer Mengen von verdünnter Schwefelsäure, Chlorzink, Fluorbor etc., aus Isobutylen C4H8 wird Diisobutylen C8H16. Aldehyd C2H4O verwandelt sich bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur in Paraldehyd (C2H4O)3, bei Temperaturen unter 0° in Metaldehyd (C2H4O)3. Sehr große Neigung zur P. besitzen Cyansäure und Cyanamid.
