Piscidĭa L., Gattung der Leguminosen mit der einzigen Art P. Erythrina L. einem Baum mit unpaarig gefiederten Blättern, weißen und blutroten Blüten in kurzen Rispen und linealischer flacher Hülfe, wächst in Florida, Mexiko und Westindien. Die Rinde (Jamaica dogwood) wird von den Eingebornen zum Betäuben der Fische benutzt. Ein aus der Rinde bereitetes Fluidextrakt gilt als schlafmachendes und schmerzstillendes Mittel unter anderm bei Migräne.
