Montgomeryshire (spr. möntgömmerĭ-schĭr, welsch: Maldwyn), Grafschaft im engl. Fürstentum Wales, zwischen Merioneth-, Denbigh-, Shrop-, Radnor- und Cardiganshire, umfaßt 2064 qkm (37,5 QM.) mit (1901) 54,901 Einw. (26 auf 1 qkm), wovon 15,6 Proz. nur Welsch, 31,9 Proz. daneben auch Englisch sprechen. Hauptstadt ist Welshpool; früher war es Montgomery.
