Loman

Loman, Abraham Dirk, holländ. Theolog, geb. 16. Dez. 1823 im Haag, gest. 17. April 1897 in Amsterdam, wurde 1846 Pfarrer in Maastricht, 1849 in Deventer, 1856 Professor am lutherischen Seminar in Amsterdam, 1877 Professor der Theologie an der städtischen Universität daselbst. Obwohl später erblindet, schrieb er eine große Anzahl von Artikeln in den Zeitschriften »De Gids« und »Theologisch Tijdschrift«, in denen er als Hauptvertreter der radikalen Bibelkritik erscheint. Außerdem veröffentlichte er: »The testimony of the Muratorian Canon« (1865); »Protestantism and the authority of the Church« (1868); »The gospel of John« (1873); »Symboolen werkelijkheid in de evangelische geschiedenis« (1884); »De zoogenaamde symbolische opvatting der evangelische geschiedenis« (1884). Auch durch Herausgabe altniederländischer Volkslieder machte sich L. verdient. Vgl. van Veen in der »Realenzyklopädie für protestantische Theologie und Kirche« (3. Aufl., Bd. 11, S. 626 ff.).
