Greyson

Greyson (spr. gräsóng), Emile, belg. Schriftsteller, geb. 1823 in Brüssel, wo er bis 1894 Generaldirektor des obern und mittlern Unterrichts in Belgien war. Vielseitig beanlagt, veröffentlichte er pädagogische Abhandlungen, Lyrisches, Dramatisches, Romane, Novellen etc., die, anspruchslos geschrieben, alle für die harmonische Natur und edle Gesinnung des Verfassers zeugen. Seine bedeutendsten Romane sind: »Fiamma Colonna« (1857); »Les récits d'un flamand« (1859); »Sites ardennais« (1860–62); »Le passeur de Targnon« (1860); »Les Magots de Teniers« (1863); »Bons ou mauvais an choix« (1882); »Aventuresen Flandre« (1882). Erwähnung verdient auch das Werk »L'Enseignement publicen Belgique« (Brüss. 1893–96, 3 Bde.).
