Bulhão-Pato

Bulhão-Pato (spr. buljāung-), Raimundo Antonio de, portugies. Dichter, geb. von portugiesischen Eltern 3. März 1829 in Bilbao, kam neunjährig nach Lissabon, wo er seitdem lebt. Romantiker durch und durch und einer der begabtesten Schüler von Garrett und Herculano, schrieb er: »Versos« (1850 u. 1867); »Paquita«, ein erzählendes Gedicht in sechs Gesängen; »Canções da tarde« (1867); »Flores agrestes« (1870); »Cantos e satyras« (1873), die alle durch südliche Farbenglut und idealen Schwung ausgezeichnet sind. Neuerdings äußert sich seine Mißstimmung über den Lauf der Dinge in scharfen Satiren, wie »A Dança Judenga« (1901). B. ist Mitglied der Akademie der Wissenschaften; als Vorsitzender der mit der Herausgabe der »Monumentos ineditos« beauftragten Abteilung gab er die Briefe des Affonso de Albuquerque (»Cartas«, Liffab. 1884) heraus.
