Abergavenny (spr. äbbergĕwénnĭ od. ebbergēnĭ), Stadt (municipal borough) in Monmouthshire (England), im Tal des Usk, inmitten der Berge, ist Hauptort eines wichtigen Bergbau- und landwirtschaftlichen Bezirks und hat eine alte, 1882 restaurierte Marienkirche, eine Lateinschule, ein Irrenhaus und (1901) 7795 Einw. A. ist das römische Gobannium.
