Balfour of Burleigh

Balfour of Burleigh (spr. bällför ŏw börlĭ), Alexander Hugh Bruce, sechster Baron, geb. 13. Jan. 1849 aus einer alten schottischen Familie, deren 1716 aufgehobene Peerswürde 1869 erneuert wurde, trat ins Oberhaus ein, war von 1888–89 Kammerherr der Königin, von da bis Mitte 1892 Parlamentssekretär des Handelsamtes und wurde 29. Juni 1895 Staatssekretär für Schottland.
