Augusta (lat., die »Heilige, Erhabene«), Beiname zuerst der Livia, der Gemahlin des Augustus, dann römischer Kaiserinnen, später aller der Familie des Kaisers (s. Augustus) angehörigen Frauen, auch vieler Städte und Truppenkörper in der Kaiserzeit.
