Maghrib (arab., »Abend, Westen«), bei den arabischen Geschichtschreibern der westliche Teil der mohammedanischen Welt, nämlich Nordafrika (ohne Ägypten) und Spanien im Gegensatz zu MaschrikOsten«). M. el Aksa, der äußerste Westen, d. h. Marokko.
