La Fare

La Fare (spr. fār'), Charles Auguste, Marquis de, franz. Dichter, geb. 1644 im Schloß Valgorge im Vivarais, gest. 1712 in Paris, zeichnete sich in den Feldzügen von 1667 und 1674 aus, wurde Turennes Freund, mußte aber infolge seiner zahlreichen Liebesabenteuer den Dienst aufgeben und führte seitdem ein nur dem Genuß geweihtes Leben, dessen Freuden er mit glänzendem Esprit und in eleganten Versen besang. Seine Werke werden meist, mit denen Chaulieus (s. d.) zusammen gedruckt.
