Gully

Gully (engl., spr. göllī), bei der Schwemmkanalisation die Einrichtung zum Absaugen von Sand, Schlamm etc. vor dem Eintritt in die Kanäle, senkrechte Schächte aus Mauersteinen oder Tonröhren, in die das Regen- oder Hauswasser hineinfließt, und in deren halber Höhe das Abflußrohr unter Einfügung eines Wasserverschlusses angebracht ist. Die Sinkstoffe sammeln sich im untern Teil des Gullys und werden von Zeit zu Zeit durch kleine Bagger herausgeholt, oder man stellt auch einen anschließenden Eimer in den G. und hebt diesen, wenn er gefüllt ist, heraus.
