Fort Augustus

Fort Augustus, ehemals Fort in Inverneßshire (Schottland), im Glenmore (s.d.) und am obern Ende des Loch Neß, 1726 erbaut als einer der Schlüssel der Hochlande, seit 1876 als großartiges Benediktinerkloster (im frühenglischen Stil) umgebaut, mit Schule für die Söhne reicher Katholiken und (1891) 611 Einw. In der Nähe der Fall of Foyers (s. Foyers).
