Ugliāno

Ugliāno (spr. uljāno, serbokroat. Uljan), Insel des dalmat. Archipels, zur Bezirksh. und Gemeinde Zara gehörig, im NO. durch den Kanal von Zara vom Festland, im SW. durch den Canale di Mezzo von der Insel Eso, im SO. und NW. durch schmale Kanäle von den Inseln Pašman und Rivanj geschieden, ist 3 km breit, 20 km lang, 52 qkm groß und enthält die Orte U. (1154 Einw.), Santa Eufemia (gegenüber von Zara, mit 826 Einw.), Kukljica (1310 Einw.), Oltre (Preko, 1916 Einw.) u. a. sowie das hochgelegene ehemalige Fort San Michele. Die Insel liefert Bausteine und Gemüse nach Zara und dient als Sommerfrische.
