Thirlmere

Thirlmere

Thirlmere (spr. thörlmīr), kleiner See in der engl. Grafschaft Cumberland, 1877 von der Stadt Manchester angekauft, die ihn in ein großes Reservoir für die 1886–94 erbauten Wasserwerke verwandelt hat, wobei die Fläche des Sees von 132 auf 322 Hektar erweitert ist.
