Sedgemoor

Sedgemoor (spr. ßéddsch-mūr), Marschebene in Somersetshire (England), 8 km südöstlich von Bridgewater. Hier wurden die Truppen des Herzogs von Monmouth 6. Juli 1685 von der Armee Jakobs II. unter Lord Feversham geschlagen. Die Schlacht bei S. ist die letzte, die auf englischem Boden ausgefochten ist.
