Parramatta, älteste, 1788 gegründete Stadt in dem britisch-austral. Staat Neusüdwales, am Parramatta River, einer Verlängerung des Port Jackson, mit Sydney durch Dampfer und Eisenbahn verbunden, hat Tweedfabrik, Brauerei, große Orangenhaine, Weinberge etc., bedeutenden Handel mit Früchten und (1901) 12,568 Einw.
