Pázmán

Pázmán (spr. páhsmān), Stefan, Name eines ungar. Ritters, der den König Karl Robert im Turnier besiegte, dann aber fürstlich belohnt ward. Er soll aus dem alten Geschlechte der eingewanderten Hunt-Pázmán abstammen. Der Dichter Arany läßt ihn in seiner Toldi-Trilogie auftreten, und Johann Strauß erwählte ihn als Titelhelden einer romantisch-komischen Oper.
