Nornagest

Nornagest, in der nordischen Sage Sohn des dänischen Fürsten Thord zu Gröning, dem die Norne so lange zu leben beschied, als die neben ihm brennende Kerze währe (der nordische Meleager); er trug nun die Kerze mit sich umher und ließ sie erst als 100jähriger Greis mit seinem Leben verglimmen. Die Erzählung von N. (»Nornagests tháttr«) ist am besten herausgegeben in Bugges »Norrœne skrifter af sagnhistorisk indhold« (Christ. 1863 ff.), deutsch übersetzt von A. Edzardi in »Volsunga- und Ragnarssaga nebst der Geschichte von N.« (Stuttg. 1880).
