Konotóp, Kreisstadt im kleinruss. Gouv. Tschernigow, links am Jesutsch, Knotenpunkt der Eisenbahnen Kursk-Kiew und K.-Pirogowka, mit 5 Kirchen und (1897) 19,404 Einw. Der Kreis hat äußerst fruchtbaren Boden und erzeugt Korn weit über den innern Bedarf. Verbreitet ist die Bienenzucht, für die in Paltschiky eine Schule besteht.
