Kakinada (Cocanada), Hafenstadt im Distrikt Godavari der britisch-ind. Präsidentschaft Madras, an einem nördlichen Mündungsarm der Godaweri, mit (1901) 47,866 Einw., meist Hindu, ist durch einen schiffbaren Kanal mit Radschamandri verbunden und Ausfuhrhafen für das reiche Hinterland, aus dem sie namentlich Baumwolle, Jute, Ölsaaten, Zucker, Myrabolamen, Hörner, Hanf ausführt. 1900 liefen 206 Schiffe ein.
