Ingram, I. Kells, engl. Nationalökonom und Philolog, geb. 7. Juli 1823 in der Grafschaft Donegal (Irland), studierte in Dublin, wurde daselbst 1846 Fellow, 1852 Professor der englischen Literatur, 1866 Professor der griechischen Sprache und 1879 Bibliothekar. Er schrieb: »The present position and prospects of political economy« (1878; deutsch von H. v. Scheel, Jena 1879); »History of political economy« (Sonderdruck aus der Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1888; deutsch von Roschlau, Tübing. 1890) und »History of slavery and serfdom« (desgl., 1895; deutsch von L. Katscher, Dresd. 1895); »Outlines ot history of religion« (1900); »Human nature and morals, according to A. Comte« (1901), auch einen Band »Sonnets and other poems« (1900); außerdem viele Arbeiten über englische Literatur und griechische und lateinische Etymologie.
