Ilorin, Hauptstadt der Provinz I. der brit. Kolonie Nord-Nigeria, auf 300 m hohen Hügeln, umgeben von einer 20 km langen Mauer mit Graben sowie teilweise von dem Fluß Assa, während der stets wasserreiche Salioluku hindurchfließt, mit 70,000 Einw., meist Joruba, außerdem Nupe, Fulah, Haussa und Kaniki, sämtlich Bekenner des Islams, die hübsche Gewebe, Waffen und Leder fertigen.
