Flower (spr. flauer), Roswell Pettabone, amerikanischer Staatsmann, geb. 7. Aug. 1835 in Theresa (New York), gest. 1899, eröffnete in seinem Geburtsort einen Juwelierladen, siedelte 1863 nach New York über und eröffnete dort ein Bankgeschäft. Er zog sich aber bald vom Geschäft zurück, um sich dem öffentlichen Leben zu widmen, wurde in den Kongreß und 1891 zum Gouverneur des Staates New York erwählt. F. gehörte der Demokratie an.
