Jahrh. die Kriegsschiffe der Byzantiner, hatten 25 Ruderpforten jederseits unter, 25 auf dem Oberdeck, 100 Ruderer und 100 Soldaten; im 12. Jahrh. kommen sie noch mit 230 Ruderern und 70 Soldaten vor.
