Burslem

Burslem (spr. börslem), Stadt (municipal borough) im Töpfereibezirk Staffordshires (England), am Grand Trunk-Kanal, mit (1901) 38,766 Einw. Steingut- und Porzellanfabriken, Töpfereien und Kohlengruben beschäftigen die Mehrzahl der Einwohner. B. hat eine Kunstschule (in der Wedgwood Memorial Hall) und ein Museum mit Gemäldegalerie (im Wedgwood Institute). Vor der Stadt liegt ein großes Krankenhaus.
