Trionāl (Methylsulfonal, Diäthylsulfonmethyläthylmethan) CH3.C2H5.C.(SO2.C2H5)2, dem Sulfonal sehr nahestehende Verbindung, bildet farblose, glänzende Kristalle, löst sich etwas schwer in Wasser, leicht in Alkohol und Äther, schmeckt bitter. schmilzt bei 76°, dient wie Sulfonal als Schlafmittel. Es scheint einige Vorzüge vor Sulfonal zu besitzen, darf aber wie dieses nicht anhaltend benutzt werden.
