Tippera (Tripura), Distrikt in der britisch-ind. Prov. Bengalen, an der Mündung des Megna-Armes des Brahmaputra, 6451 qkm mit (1901) 2,117,991 Einw. und dem Hauptort Comilla mit 19,169 Einw. Östlich davon liegt das unter britischer Oberhoheit stehende T.-Hügelland (Hill T.), das auf 10,582 qkm nur 173,325 meist halbwilde Bewohner hat. Der gleichnamige Volksstamm zählte 1901: 111,279 Seelen, davon 101,508 in Bengalen, 9771 in Assam.
