Serer

Serer, Negerstamm in der franz. Kolonie Senegal, zwischen Kap Verde und der Wasserscheide zwischen Salum und Gambia. Von großer, muskulöser Statur (Männer oft 2 m), erzeugen sie als tüchtige Ackerbauer große Mengen von Erdnüssen zum Verkauf an der Küste. Ihre Gesamtzahl wird zu 180,000 angegeben.
