Sahaptin

Sahaptin, auch Nezpercés genannt, nordamerikan. Indianerstamm, der mit den sprachverwandten Wallawalla und Kliketat das Gebiet des mittlern und obern Columbiaflusses bewohnte und den Handel von der Küste nach dem Innern vermittelte. Gegenwärtig leben die S., gegen 1800 Seelen stark, in zwei Reservationen in Idaho und Washington.
