Bampton (spr. bämmt'n), Stadt in Devonshire (England), 30 km nördlich von Exeter, mit (1901) 1657 Einw. Aus B. stammte der Karmelitermönch John de B. (geb. 1391), der erste Professor der Aristotelischen Philosophie an der Universität Cambridge.
