Montbretĭa DC, Gattung der Iridazeen, die jetzt zur Gattung Tritonia Ker. gezogen wird, Knollengewächse mit schmal schwertförmigen Blättern, ährenförmigem Blütenstand und zweizeilig wechselständigen Blüten. Von den am Kap heimischen Arten wird M. Pottsii Bak., mit schönen mennigroten Blüten, namentlich auch ein Bastard mit Tritonia aurea als M. crocosmaeflora, in vielen Varietäten als Zierpflanze kultiviert.
