Aubergine

Aubergine (spr. ōbärschīn'), chinesische und japan. Tonwaren mit blauroter Glasur; auch (Albergine) der Eierapfel (s. Solanum), nach dessen (bisweilen) blauroter Farbe jene Tonwaren benannt sind.
