Mahabalipur (Mahavellipur), Dorf im Distrikt Tschingelpat der britisch-ind. Präsidentschaft Madras, unter 12°37' nördl. Br., berühmt durch seine Höhlentempel, Monolithen, meist aus der letzten buddhistischen Zeit, mit zum Teil wundervollen Reliefs, aber bereits teilweise vom Meer verschlungen.
