Leptochloa

Leptochloa Beauv., Gattung der Gräser, in den wärmern Ländern beider Erdhälften verbreitete Gräser mit kleinen, zwei- bis vielblütigen, selten einblütigen, zusammengedrückten Ährchen, die in zahlreiche, zu einer Rispe vereinigte dünne Ähren gestellt sind. Von den zwölf Arten liefert L. bipinnata Hochst, in Ägypten Esparto.
