Kanjō (spr. kandschō), japan. Bezeichnung der von kommandierenden Generalen auf dem Kriegsschauplatz erteilten Belobigungsdiplome für hervorragende Tapferkeit. Nach dem Vorbild einer Verleihung an den Gründer der Fürstenfamilie Sasaki durch den Schôgun Yoritomo wurde das K. 1904 bei der Armee und Flotte eingeführt. Die Erteilung wird durch Armeebefehl bekannt gemacht und an den Kaiser berichtet.
