Jug

Jug, Fluß im russ. Gouv. Wologda, entspringt in einem sumpfigen Wald im Kreis Nikolsk, fließt in nördlicher Richtung und vereinigt sich bei Welikij Ustjug mit der Suchona zur Dwina (s. d.). Es ist ein reißender Strom von sehr geschlängeltem Lauf in einem verwilderten Bett, 463 km lang und bis 160 m breit. Die Schiffahrt auf ihm ist unbedeutend.
